”I’m alone,” thought 10 year old Joel. “Everyone’s gone off and left me. Yippeee! Time to discover a few tricks!”
”I’m alone,” mopped 10 year old Josh. ”Everyone’s gone off and left me. The world sucks! No one cares what I do!”
Which kid is lonely; which isn’t?
Same physical scenario; different responses. How do we explain that?
Is being alone similar to being lonely?
Does a child have to be alone to be lonely?
What makes one kid lonely and another not?
Nature or nurture?
Does loneliness affect a child?
How can the parent/caregiver help? Should they?
